As the state’s top law enforcement officer, the Attorney General is responsible for protecting Kansans from violent offenders, not pushing a partisan political agenda.
“I’ve been a lifelong Republican; however, I’ve never been the type of person to blindly follow leaders simply by their political affiliation. My willingness to follow a leader is dependent upon their character, referenced by their historical actions, and not the image they may try to project for votes,” said Neosho County Sheriff Greg Taylor. “Being an elected official myself, I understand the scar that can be left on a community when elected officials choose politics over having the fortitude and integrity to do the right thing. People should have faith that our leaders, and especially our judicial system, are honest, ethical, and fair.”
Chris Mann has spent his career fighting to keep Kansans safe.
As a police officer, Chris Mann held domestic abusers, drunk drivers, and other violent offenders accountable. After being severely injured in the line of duty, Mann continued to fight to protect Kansans in the courtroom.
As a criminal prosecutor, Mann secured prison sentences against drug traffickers and murderers, including a man who committed an execution-style murder in Wyandotte County. Mann then prosecuted white-collar criminals and scam artists as a securities prosecutor with the Office of the Kansas Securities Commissioner. He secured a decade-long prison sentence against a scam artist who stole the life savings of an elderly widow in Sedgwick County.
“We need an ethical leader as the Attorney General,” said Sheriff Taylor. “I’m supporting Chris Mann because I think he is genuinely more interested in the job and actual duties of Kansas Attorney General than using the office as a political stepping stone.”
Mann has centered his campaign on the pledge to protect and serve Kansas families, without regard to partisan politics. This message is resonating with Kansans from across the political spectrum, with Mann shattering Attorney General fundraising records, establishing a bipartisan advisory committee of current and retired law enforcement leaders, and earning the endorsement of 16 labor unions.
“Chris Mann has a proven record when it comes to holding violent offenders accountable,” said Leah Rymer, spokesperson for the Chris Mann campaign. “As Attorney General, his number one priority will be protecting Kansans from anyone who preys on them.”
