LAWRENCE, KS — Chris Mann has earned several new endorsements from organized labor groups, bringing his total labor union endorsements to sixteen. This strong support from organized labor groups for Chris’ campaign for Attorney General reflects his commitment to protect and defend Kansas workers.

The United Auto Workers Local 31, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union Local 2, and AFT-Kansas have recently announced their support of Chris Mann’s campaign. These unions represent tens of thousands of workers across Kansas and advocate for improved working conditions, competitive wages, and employee protections.

“Kansans need an Attorney General that works for working people — not just corporations, millionaires and billionaires,” said Dontay Wilson, president of UAW Local 31. “Chris Mann represents the high-integrity, common sense leadership we need in the office of Attorney General. Chris Mann is a leader for working people, because he is of the working people of Kansas. We are excited to see Chris Mann as our next Attorney General.”

“From meatpacking plants to retail stores, UFCW Local 2 members are fighting every day to improve working conditions and pay,” said Martin Rosas, president of UFCW Local 2. “We need an Attorney General who will fight alongside us. As a union member himself, Chris understands this and will fight to protect Kansas workers no matter what.”

“The Attorney General’s office has enormous power to shape whether our state protects public schools, workers, patients, civil rights, voting rights, and the rule of law,” said Mike Harris, president of AFT-Kansas. “The Kansas Association of Public Employees Committee on Political Education is proud to endorse Chris Mann because we believe he understands that the law should protect Kansans and strengthen our communities, not be used as a political weapon against them.”

These recent endorsement announcements join more than a dozen labor unions that already announced their support for Chris Mann as Kansas’ next Attorney General.

“I’m honored to have earned such broad support from labor groups across Kansas in this race. Kansas workers are the backbone of our state and deserve an Attorney General who has their back,” said Chris Mann, candidate for Kansas Attorney General. “As your next Attorney General, I will hold bad actors accountable when they try to take advantage of hardworking Kansans through worker misclassification, wage theft, and other abusive practices.”

United Auto Workers Local 31, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union Local 2, and AFT-Kansas join Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, the Greater Kansas City Building and Construction Trades Council, the Laborers Local #1290, the Pipe Fitters Local 533, Kansas AFL-CIO, Kansas State Building & Construction Trades Council, the IBEW Local #124, the IBEW Local #271, Ironworkers Local #10, the Bricklayers Local #15, Tri-County Labor Council of Eastern Kansas, Kansas National Education Association Political Action Committee, and the Operative Plasters and Cement Mason Local 518 in backing Chris Mann’s campaign for Kansas Attorney General.
